Come on Ireland

This was for the world cup...or maybe the European cup...or the Olympics. I'm not sure and I've no idea where Ireland came.  With parents like us they won't have a sporty gene in their bodies! I'm afraid their cute little sporting poses confirms this.

Hannah Banana

Me: no, your name is Hannah Ryan
Hannah (tearfully): no, it's Hannah Banana
Me: no, it's Hannah Ryan
Hannah (on the ground kicking and screaming): it's Hannah Banana
Me: okay, it's Hannah Banana
Toddlers!

Don't we both look nice though.

Fairy Godfather Col came for a visit

And a surprisingly good godfather to Hannah he is too.  We had one of those lovely Lacka BBQs that only ever seem to happen when Col is home.

First holiday abroad

It took us 6 years to work up the courage. It was lovely, we went to Portugal. The only hiccup was that, at 2 and a half, Hannah quickly decided that she didn't like water, the sea, the pool, sand, getting her feet wet or basically anything even remotely connected with sun holidays! Pretty much the only thing she agreed to was being rolled around for walks in her stroller...long walks up steep hills on bad Portuguese roads in sweltering heat.

We were saved by Granny and Auntie Mary coming with us and taking the lot of them away every so often. Most important travel tip...when going on hols with kids NEVER leave home without a granny!

First tooth fairy visit

This happened last November! I'm way behind. It took us all by surprise but Ronan was proud as punch and delighted with his fiver. Although with his five year understanding of economics, he'd have been as happy with five cents.

This was our first tooth, that appeared to such great excitement on the day of the christening. (I only remember because I read back in the blog). It's precious...and a bit gross. I hope the tooth fairy takes good care of it.

First tooth for Lucy

Not too long after Ronan, even though her teeth always took yonks to grow as a baby. This happened in May, so a few months off 6. The tooth fairy is going to be busy from now on. Hannah keeps telling us her tooth is loose too!

Backed up blogs

Something's been up with blogger on my phone for a few months so here are a few backed up blogs, lots of firsts.

Up the rebels

It's 1916 dress up day at school, to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the Easter Rising. After railing against the school for a while...do they think we've all the time in the world...I cobbled together costumes and was quite proud of the results, especially Lucy's. Amazing what can be done with a princess dress, a scarf and a shower cap!

The photo is one for the 150th commemoration in 2056, when Ronan and Lucy will be 55 and maybe blogging about the trials and tribulations of caring for elderly grumpy parents...oh how the tables will turn...mwahahahaha!
