Christmas 2015
Christmas in Coolready. With the help of my new selfie stick, Sean finally gets to be in the photos!
Great Coolready bake off
I'm feeling proud of my Christmas cakes this year, one for the charity raffle in work and one for home. I hope the inside is as nice as the outside! Fingers crossed...

Meanwhile, with Hannah
First day of school

After spending a summer of Ronan saying he wasn't looking forward to school and Lucy saying she couldn't wait to go to school (partly to annoy Ronan), they finally had their first day of school. I spent the whole time thinking that they will probably always remember something about the day, it'll be one of their first memories. They got ready and went in happily, it was only at the moment that Mammy and Daddy had to leave that things went slightly awry. Lucy stared straight ahead, quiet and stoic, keeping it together while poor Ronan crumbled into a little ball of quiet, hunched up sobbing, not clinging to me or begging me to stay, just meekly and sadly accepting his abandonment. I kept back my own sobbing until I was outside the classroom. It was hell. My babies.
The few hours I spent with Sean in an empty house having a fry, reading my book, etc. was nice though. When I collected them they seemed happy, Ronan impressed the teacher with his colouring and Lucy fell in the yard and got a plaster from the principal in the staff room. Later that day Lucy informed me proudly that she'd kept her wind in for the whole time she was in school. Good girl Lucy, but I hope that's not the bit your remember from your first day of school!
Today was the second day of school, where the whole thing pretty much replayed as before, except that Ronan told me quite clearly that no, he didn't want to go to school, crossed his arms and marched defiantly out of the classroom and into the corridor to make his way home. Looks like he's made up his mind, school isn't for him. Its going to be a long first term.

Gradulation day (as Ronan calls it)
Sob, sob, my babies graduated preschool. Next time they have red gowns they will be getting their PhDs...no pressure lads.

Where's Didi gone?
Hannah's first sentence, said today with her little hands stretched out, palms up, for dramatic effect. Didi is Lucy, by the way, and Roro is Ronan.
