I'm morphing into an unrecognisable being, like caterpillar to butterfly except backwards. Aside from my waist, the first to go was my long hair, cause the time for straighteners will be gone soon and I might as well get used to it. Next off the list were the high heels and sexy underwear...I'll admit to feeling sadder about the former than the latter. After a relatively brief period of use, my wedding rings got the bullet a few weeks ago because my hands started to swell.
Last weekend I discovered none of my shoes fit me so I'm now wearing old woman sandals that close with velcro to accommodate my 2 sizes bigger feet. But the WORST and biggest sacrifice I've had to make so far was to get my beloved nails cut last week :<( I'm a shadow of my former self!
Last night in an act of defiance and great discomfort I almost gave myself contractions by painting my toe nails, because by God, I can't give everything up...and when I'm in labour (and possibly in stirrups) at least I'll know, if nothing else, my toes are still pretty!

I promise you that you will have your hair back, your ring on again, your shoes back, don't know about the nails, you might have to play with sand and clay for some years, but you will be yourself again or if not you will be a better self than you every were before as your little bundles will represent your beauty!
Oooh...I remember me telling you that I had to cut my nails super short as they used to scratch Ellen when she was teeny weeny and you told me that you would never lose your nails! But that was before you fell in love!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, once the hair has almost all fallen out (by Halloween I suppose?) it will grow back again!
And practically every mom I know has had a pre-labor pedicure but I don't think I've met one yet who did it herself! You are an Amazon!
